I've seen a huge number of adverts for a £3 trick to lose weight, or start eating acai berries and beetroot, or strain your soup through a sock. It's all bunkum.
I lost 3 stone over a year simply by eating less and then (after I lost a bit) through exercise.
The real trick has been to change my lifestyle. I'm more active and I pay attention to what I need to eat, not what I think I want. That wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
The one kind of fad diet I did do was the 5/2 thing, except it was 6/1 and I had about 700 kcal instead of 500 kcal. I did that 3 times at the start.
Most importantly I look and feel better and I can play more with my daughter.
